Booking Terms & Conditions

PART A

(1) The fireground /STCW Training Facility is fully insured against accidents and third-party liability but responsibility is not accepted for personal accidents, damage or loss attributable to your negligence, recklessness or gross misconduct. CTS reserves the right to hold any student liable for any/all damage or loss resulting from negligence or misconduct.

(2) STCW BST pre-requisites are: minimum age 18. CTS has ensured, through pre-course information and screening, that you are fit to participate in all aspects of the training. You have been made aware of the practical aspects of the training and the physically demanding nature of some of the exercises involving live fires and the use of breathing apparatus. If there is any doubt as to your ability to participate in such exercise an appropriate risk assessment should be carried out to determine what is required to proceed in a safe manner.

(3) Personal Insurance. You are strongly advised to arrange your own insurance at the time of booking to cover against personal accident, cancellation, medical and repatriation etc.

(4) Our refund and cancellation policy are detailed herein. Any balance of courses is due at least 7 days prior to the course commencement.

(5) If you wish to cancel: You may cancel your course at any time on the following basis: more than 21 days notice entitles you to a full refund or change of course date. 14-21 days notice entitles you to change of course date and partial 50% refund. Less than 14 days notice is non refundable.

(6) If we cancel your course: Arrangements for courses are made many months in advance. We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel a course or your booking. If we cancel your booking our liability is limited to monies already paid, which will be refunded. We may offer as an alternative a replacement course, which you may choose to accept in place of a refund. Such an offer once accepted, constitutes a new booking subject to all the terms and conditions herein. Occasionally we may need to make changes which may include but are not limited to: a] a change of location, b] change of date, c] change of instructor.

(7) Should you at any time feel that a course has not met your expectations or you have a concern, it is vital that you bring the issue to the attention of your instructor. The issue may be resolved by him or her. If more appropriate, please notify the Crew Training Solutions office at the earliest possible opportunity. We may not be able to offer alternative arrangements for comments received after the course has commenced or completed, however we will do all that is possible to resolve all matters and prevent any reoccurrence

(8) CTS will not be held responsible in the event of the course/exam being delayed or postponed or dates changed due to adverse weather conditions or in the interests of safety.

(9) I declare that to the best of my knowledge, I am not suffering from epilepsy, disability, giddy spells, asthma, diabetes, angina or heart condition and I am fit to take part in the course. If these details change prior to arrival, I will inform Crew Training Solutions [CTS] and/or my instructor without delay.

PART B – Master of Yachts Courses

1)The vessel is fully insured against accidents and third-party liability but responsibility is not accepted for personal accidents, damage or loss attributable to your negligence, recklessness or gross misconduct. CTS reserves the right to hold any student liable for any/all damage or loss resulting from negligence or misconduct.

2)The IYT MOY Exam pre -requisites are: minimum age 18, sea time summary as follows: 50 days onboard at sea, 3.000 nautical miles, 30 hrs on watch at night underway. Certifications required: An IYT Short range Certificate or a GMDSS Short
Range Certificate (or higher grade of marine radio certificate), a valid 1st Aid Certificate, medical fitness (ENG1 or equivalent), STCW Basic Training certificates.

3] Personal Insurance. You are strongly advised to arrange your own insurance at the time of booking to cover against personal accident, cancellation, medical and repatriation etc.

4] Our refund and cancellation policy are detailed herein. Any balance of courses is due at least 7 days prior to the course commencement.

5] If you wish to cancel: You may cancel your course at any time. Written notification [email] must be received by our sales team. Cancellation will be effective on the day notification is received. Cancellation charges are as follows. Period before departure: 57+ days: deposit only; 29-56 days: 50% of total paid; 22-28 days: 70% of total paid; 21 days or less: 100% of total paid. If the reasons for your cancellation are covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. A cancellation invoice will be issued on request.

6] If we cancel your course: Arrangements for courses are made many months in advance. We reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel a course or you’re booking. If we cancel your booking our liability is limited to monies already paid, which will be refunded. We may offer as an alternative a replacement course, which you may choose to accept in place of a refund. Such an offer once accepted, constitutes a new booking subject to all the aforesaid terms and conditions. Occasionally we may need to make changes which may include but are not limited to a] a change of destination, b] change of departure point, c] change of vessel, d] change of instructor. Such matters do not constitute conditions of the contract and changes to them by us do not constitute a cancellation.

7] Should you at any time feel that a course has not met your expectations, or you have a concern, it is vital that you bring the issue to the attention of your instructor. The issue may be resolved by him/her. If more appropriate, please notify the Crew Training Solutions office at the earliest possible opportunity.. We may not be able to offer alternative arrangements for comments received after the course is completed if the issue could have been solved or ameliorated at the time.
